AI Carers Support Service launched in Richmond
We know that caring can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging—especially when you need information or support outside office hours.
Until January 2026, unpaid carers in Richmond are invited to try a new online Carers Assessment and Support Service. The service, powered by artificial intelligence, was developed by Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Care with support from Richmond Carers Centre.
What is the AI Carers Support Service?
This pilot service provides a simple way to talk about your caring role and explore support options—at any time of day or night.
How it works
- Start a conversation at a time that suits you
- The AI guide will chat with you to learn about your caring situation and needs
- You will receive personalised recommendations, including local services, online advice and practical resources
- You will receive an email summary of your discussion and support suggestions
- You can choose to complete a full Carer’s Assessment if you wish

Who is it for?
This service is for unpaid carers of any age who:
- Support a family member, friend or neighbour due to illness, disability, mental ill health or substance use
- Want quick and flexible access to support and information
- Prefer to use an online service rather than wait for an appointment
The service is FREE for unpaid carers living or caring for somebody in Richmond and Wandsworth.
